Wednesday: Pigeon Forge and Cade's Cove

On Tuesday I took delivery of a new Data Card from Verizon and it seems work ok, so life is more rosy now. We can move on from Chattanooga.
Drove to Pigeon Forge on Wednesday and found a nice campground called Creekside RV. We have a spot just by the little creek.
Thursday we took a day trip to Cades Cove, it was beautiful scenery. Too many people though.
Came back on the road from Cades Cove to Gatlinburg. That road is really spectacular as it runs alongside a stream which has lots of rapids and water falls.

Road Trip 5:..... West Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky

This is our fifth trip and this time we plan to explore Western Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky. We arrive on the 9th Ferbruary. We will:...
*Do some more bluegrass in Florida.
*Travel North on the border between Alabama and Georgia looking at some of the more famous Civil War Sites.
*Cross into Tennessee and explore the Smoky Mountains.
*Follow the Appalachians North into Kentucky, then move West to Lexington and Nashville.
*We may get time to get to Memphis, but will not push ourselves.
We do not expect to return to Florida this time.
We fly home on the 7th May.

Road Trips to America

This blog is an account of our trials and adventures in America. It had long been our plan to tour the United States. We have caravanned in the UK for many years so it seemed obvious to buy a caravan in the US. Now we had retired we wanted to take our time, not just a few weeks at a time, as we had done before. Sally has CFS/M.E. and we need to plan travelling very carefully. We do not want to travel much more than a couple of hours a day, with plenty of days off. How best to accomplish this? After much thought we have bought our own car and Travel Trailer and keep it in the U.S. We accomplished this on our first trip. We now own a 31ft Travel Trailer and 15 seat passenger van. Our second trip saw us touring round Central and Northern Florida. We spent a lot more time visiting Bluegrass and Folk Fesitvals. Our third trip was to the Northern part of Forida and the Panhandle. Our fourth trip took us North through Central Georgia to the Blue Ridge Mountains, through North and South Carolina and back to Florida along the coast. On our Fifth Trip we travelled north through Georgia., Alabama and Tennessee.
This blog will enable our friends and relatives to keep up with us, as well as providing a record of our travels.
